# Windows Environment

> Use Asteroid's Windows environment for automations that require Windows-only desktop software.

The Windows environment provides a Windows desktop session in an isolated sandbox.

## When to use Windows

Choose Windows when your workflow depends on Windows-only software:

* Legacy enterprise desktop tools
* Vendor clients available only on Windows
* Internal apps that require Windows runtime dependencies

## Interaction model

Windows environments use **Computer Use (CUA)** models for interaction. The model interprets screenshots and issues mouse and keyboard actions to operate the desktop.
